Bhubaneswar: Authorities in Odisha's Cuttack district have dismantled a unit involved in the production of adulterated milk, as reported by local police on Wednesday.
Following a tip-off, law enforcement officials conducted a raid late Tuesday night at a location behind a roadside restaurant in Gurudijhatia, near Athagarh.
During the operation, officers confiscated various chemicals, salts, and powders believed to be used in the adulteration process, along with a tanker and a delivery van.
Unfortunately, the individuals responsible for the illegal milk production managed to escape the scene, according to police reports.
In response to the incident, local milk farmers have called for the swift apprehension of those involved in this illicit activity.
Rabi Behera, president of the Odisha Milk Farmers’ Association, emphasized the need for the government to take decisive action against milk adulteration and ensure the safety of dairy products.
